How it works
A compression sliding patio door slides open like a conventional slider but adds one important thing: when locked, the sash pulls tightly against a continuous perimeter gasket. That compression closure improves sealing, comfort, security and weather resistance — closer to the tight seal of a European turn window than a typical slider. Hardware includes multi-point locking, German-designed mechanisms, and heavy-duty rollers. Internal mini-blinds and privacy or performance glass packages are available.

2 panel configurations
The classic patio door layout: one fixed panel and one operating panel that slides behind it. Sizing is confirmed on site, and the operating side is chosen so the door opens away from your furniture and traffic path.

Hardware options
Patio door hardware is built for smooth daily use and long-term security. Interior and exterior finishes can be specified independently, and keyed exterior cylinders are available.
- Upgraded North American hardware
- Handles, locks and keepers are sized for patio door loads and cycles. The hardware family is designed for smooth operation and positive latching.
- Interior and exterior colour choices
- Handle and keeper colours can be selected to match or contrast the frame colour inside and out.
- Keyed exterior lock
- A keyed cylinder on the outside provides secure entry from the yard or deck without needing an extra door.
Internal mini-blinds
Mini-blinds sealed between the glass panes are available on selected patio door systems and glass sizes. They give adjustable privacy and light control without exposed cords, dust or damage.
- Sealed between the glass
- The blinds live inside the sealed unit, protected from dust, pets and children. There are no dangling cords or external cleaning.
- Tilt and lift operation
- A discreet operator lets you tilt the slats for light and privacy, or lift the full stack out of the sight line for an unobstructed view.
- Availability
- Offered on systems with compatible glass sizes. We confirm fit during measurement so the blinds work with the chosen panel configuration.
Glass and glazing options
Patio door glass packages are built around high-performance Low-E sealed units with argon gas. Multiple Low-E combinations can be tuned for high solar heat gain or low U-values.
- Tempered Low-E glass standard
- Toughened safety glass with a Low-E coating comes standard, improving thermal performance and meeting safety requirements.
- Argon gas fill
- The insulating cavity is filled with argon gas to slow heat transfer and improve the overall U-factor compared with air-filled units.
- Multiple Low-E combinations
- Glass can be specified for high solar heat gain (SHGC) on south-facing openings or for lower U-values on shaded and north-facing elevations.
Twin locking system
A robust twin-lock system is standard, providing smooth latching action and improved security over a single-point patio lock.

- Two locking points draw the sash into the frame for a tighter, more secure closure than a basic single hook.
- Anti-locking device
- Prevents the hardware from accidentally locking in the open position, so the door can always be closed and secured normally.

Quiet rollers
Smooth, quiet rolling is one of the most noticeable differences in a premium patio door. The system uses oversized components on a precision track.

- Larger rollers carry the weight of heavy glass panels with less effort and less track wear than small economy rollers.
- Anodized aluminum track
- A hard, corrosion-resistant track surface gives the rollers a smooth path and helps maintain the same glide over years of use.
- Long-term smooth operation
- Over-engineered parts and a tight tolerance between roller and track reduce the rattling and sticking that develops in lighter systems.
Screen options
Every patio door can be fitted with a screen. Standard and heavy-duty options are available with colour and mesh upgrades.
- Standard aluminum screen
- A 1½-inch aluminum-framed screen comes standard on most configurations, with a matching frame colour.
- Heavy-duty 3-inch screen
- A deeper, stiffer aluminum frame is available for homes with pets, children or high-traffic door use.
- Colour and pet-mesh upgrades
- Screen frames can be colour-matched, and pet-resistant mesh can be specified where claws or active use are a concern.
Transoms and sidelites
Fixed transoms above and sidelites beside the patio door can be engineered to match the system and sized to fit the opening.
- Engineered to match
- Transoms and sidelites use the same frame profile, glass package and exterior finish as the patio door for a unified look.
- Custom sizing
- Heights, widths and lite patterns can be adjusted to fill larger openings or align with existing windows.
Internal grills
Internal grill patterns can be added between the glass panes for a traditional divided-lite appearance without the maintenance of exterior applied grilles.
- Between-the-glass grilles
- Grille bars sit inside the sealed unit, protected from weather and cleaning, and create a refined shadow line.
- Pattern matching
- Colonial, prairie, perimeter and custom patterns can be used to coordinate the patio door with nearby windows.

Limited lifetime warranty
Patio door systems are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship arising from the manufacturing process. Coverage is parts-only; labour and installation-related costs are not included.
- Frame & sash
- Vinyl frame and sash components are covered against blistering, peeling, flaking and corroding for twenty-five (25) years.
- Insulated glass
- Sealed units are covered for twenty (20) years against seal failure visible as moisture, dust or dirt between the panes. Broken glass and thermal-shock damage are not covered.
- Hardware
- All hardware is warranted against defects for ten (10) years.
- Paint
- Paint is warranted for ten (10) years against peeling, cracking and major discolouration not caused by sunlight, heat or abrasive materials.
- Mini-blinds
- Internal mini-blinds are warranted for five (5) years.
